Mit seinem neuesten Kurzfilm World of Tomorrow wechselt Don Hertzfeldt ins digitale Medium. Die Masterclass, moderiert von Abigail Addison, gibt entlang ausgewählter Beispiele Einblicke in seinen künstlerischen Prozess und geht auch auf die Nebenstränge seines Schaffens ein – mit Exkursen über The Simpsons, die „Norman McLaren App“ und die kulturelle Form des Comic-Romans am Beispiel seiner eigenen „unusual and discouraging new 216-page graphic novel“ The End of the World.

Don Hertzfeldt’s most recent short film, World of Tomorrow, marks his transition to the digital medium. His master class, presented by Abigail Addison, features selected examples of his work and provides an insight into his artistic process, while also shedding light on his secondary lines of work – including digressions on The Simpsons, the “Norman McLaren App” and the cultural form of the comic novel, using the example of his own “unusual and discouraging new 216-page graphic novel” The End of the World.
