Moïa Jobin-Paré, Musikerin und Künstlerin aus Montréal, arbeitet in ihren Filmen mit einer Mischung aus Film und Fotografie. Als Technik setzt sie oft das Kratzen auf Filmmaterial ein, auf der Tonebene verwendet sie gern assoziativ arrangierte Original-Aufnahmen. In der Live-Performance wird diese Arbeitsweise auf einmal sichtbar: Sie zeigt jene Objekte, die man in Sans Objets (läuft in Animation Avantgarde) nicht sieht, und erzeugt mit dem "Live-Scratching" den Ton des Bildes. Moïa Jobin-Paré, a visual artist and musician from Montréal, works with a blend of film and photography in her films. She often scratches the film stock as a stylistic means; on the sound level she likes to use associatively arranged original recordings. In the live performance, this technique suddenly becomes visible: she shows those objects you don't see in No Objects (part of Animation Avantgarde) and creates the sound of the image with "live scratching". Jeck/Grill/Lemieux (Live)

Eine audiovisuelle Performance an der Schnittstelle zwischen analog und digital: Bilder und Töne werden sowohl analog als auch digital produziert und sind miteinander verbunden. Michaela Grill (AT) und Karl Lemieux (CA) haben Zugriff auf das Bildmaterial und können es live manipulieren, um es dann auf der Leinwand zu einer Einheit verschmelzen zu lassen. Zusätzlich wird das Tonsignal zur Bildproduktion genutzt. Philip Jeck (UK) wiederum reagiert mit der Musik auf das Visuelle. Die Live-Improvisation erzeugt so ein atmosphärisch dichtes Amalgam an Bildern und Tönen. (mg)

An audiovisual performance, exploring the line between analog and digital realms: Images and sounds are produced both analogically and digitally and are connected via several interfaces. Michaela Grill (AT) und Karl Lemieux (CA) have access to the visual material and manipulate it in their respective medium. The results coalesce on a shared screen into a whole unit. The acoustic signal is used to produce images as well, and musician Philip Jeck (UK) reacts to the visual material. The improvised live session creates an atmospherically dense amalgam of images and sounds. (mg)
