SWELLE was once the bedroom project of nonbinary poet and multi-instrumentalist Elle (they/them). Vienna born and raised and a bad American, they got fired from their job and had no excuses but to pursue Swelle in the real world. They joined forces with guitarist and producer Magnus Thomson to record their first LP. Nine months later, “Gift Horse” was born, a mutant of indie, grunge, and shoegaze influences, an album about dissociative states and the love, sadness, and anger that keeps us tethered to the world we share. Along the way, they joined forces with Viktor Farkas (guitar), Vincenz Eder and Alex Straub (drums) to create the emo alt-rock album of their dreams. 
Badlands is the first of three singles from the debut album “Gift Horse”, releasing in spring. The single and its accompanying music video (Max Bonavent) was released on November 22, 2024, are about games and double-edged swords, how a childlike sense of wonder can turn from sweet to sickly, and make bad places and bad people of what was once pure and good. The song was written during a spell of listening to 90’s grunge and alt-rock jams, the wall of guitars and the nonchalant attitude that perfectly suits the inner and outer landscapes of Badlands.

WOODEN PINK emerges from earlier project Duophon and crafts a unique blend of folk, soul and rock’n’roll. Hailing from the Southern German side of the border near Passau, the freshly formed quintet debuts their most recent material in Wien. Funking groovy Indie-folk.
