This workshop is part of a weekend with textile artists Katarina Brieditis and Katarina Evans, focusing on reuse, transformation, and textile experimentation. Join us for a day dedicated to reimagining the potential of everyday objects. In this hands-on workshop, you will explore how a tie can be transformed into a fabric rose, a brooch, or else reworked and tied in new ways to make a cravat, using simple needle and thread techniques. During the workshop, Katarina and Katarina will guide you step by step through the process, while also sharing insights into their design approach aswell as examples from their work and from selected projects in their portfolio. By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own transformed pieces and gained new ways of seeing and working with reclaimed materials. A wide selection of silk ties will be available free of charge.
Please bring pins, safety pins (if you want to make a brooch), not too small scissors, needles, and strong thread.
