The Tropical Thunder collective is flipping the script for everyone who wants to skip Vienna's NYE chaos the night before. We believe that a DAYLIGHT DANCE into the FIRST SUNRISE is a more conscious way to mark the turn of the year. We're convinced of shaking up Vienna's scene with our gathering, “A Conscious Beginning", which starts on 01st of JANUARY at 07.00 am in 2024's FIRST SUNRISE and runs ALL DAY LONG until 2024's FIRST SUNSET. The idea is based on DAYLIGHT DANCES found in cities like London, Paris and New York.

Catch the first sunrise vibes in the AM of this MAGICAL and POWERFUL DATE at a hush-hush, SECRET INDOOR LOCATION near the Danube and start 2024 with a dance of JOY.

Feel the JOY of daylight dancing on a DANCE-FLOOR pulsating with electronic BALEARIC, 1980's IBIZA vibes and various RHYTHMS from the far reaches of our PLANET. You can immerse yourself in SOULFUL CEREMONIES and RITUALS, revive with intuitive bodywork MASSAGES or trim your LOCKS for a fresh start – the ultimate vibes for a new chapter. Or simply chill in SNUG CORNERS with laid-back vibes. Plus, our EMOTIONAL SUPPORT crew will be right there when you need them.

Our mission:

Tropical Thunder aims to foster a strong sense of community and belonging among the cultures of this planet and contribute to the personal growth of each individual.

Our nostalgia:

There was a short but unique cultural phenomenon that developed on the island of Ibiza in Spain between 1985-1990, which was called the BALEARIC MOVEMENT. The movement brought together the hippie culture of Ibiza and the art scene from the Spanish and French mainlands. It was known for its SUNRISE and SUNSET DANCES, which often took place on secluded beaches and in hidden caves. The MUSIC was often a MIXTURE OF DIFFERENT GENRES such as proto house, ambient, reggae, dub and a variety of rhythms from the far reaches of our planet. It was played by DJs who catered to the needs of the people and set the mood of the party. People wore colourful and unusual clothes and there were many art exhibitions, PERFORMANCES on the one side and many WORKSHOPS for PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT on the other side. Tropical Thunder wants to revive this movement and to silently kick-off its new project "BALEARIC BAILE" with this sunrise gathering on the 01/01/2024.
