Sexarbeit wird in verschiedenen Feldern beforscht und beschrieben: historisch, politisch, ökonomisch, künstlerisch, queer-feministisch. Als Thematik stark aufgeladen und umstritten werden Sexarbeitende selbst oft aus der Diskussion ausgeschlossen. Es wird über sie, statt mit ihnen gesprochen.

Die Konferenz zu Sexarbeit dreht den Spieß um: Sie ist ein wissenschaftliches und soziales Format, das von Sexarbeiter*innen selbst organisiert und bei der aus ihrer Perspektive gelehrt wird. Im Fokus steht die Wissensvermittlung rund um das Thema, die Weiterentwicklung von Strategien des gemeinsamen politischen Agierens sowie spielerischer Austausch. Ziel ist es, neben Stadtbewohner*innen, auch Wissenschaftler*innen, Journalist*innen, Künstler*innen zu sensibilisieren, um Mythen und Vorurteile zu dekonstruieren, die über Sexarbeit existieren und die verschiedenen Akteur*innen zu vernetzen.

Dazu gehört das Lernen, wie man über Sexarbeit recherchiert, schreibt und spricht und mit welchen Problemen und Hindernissen Sexarbeitende innerhalb der Gesellschaft zu kämpfen haben. Somit wollen wir dazu beitragen, dass das Stigma nachhaltig abgebaut wird und mit Stereotypen der Sexarbeit gebrochen wird. Workshops, Panels, Inputs und ein tägliches Rahmenprogramm mit verschiedenen internationalen Sprecher*innen sind Teil der Konferenz.

Für die Dauer von drei Tagen entsteht im F23 ein Ort der Begegnung, in dem es ähnlich eines Festivals möglich ist, ein breites Spektrum an Positionen geboten zu bekommen und mit der Pro-Sexwork-Community Wiens in direkten Austausch zu treten: Sexarbeitende selbst, verbündete Künstler*innen und LGBTQIA+ Aktivist*innen.

Künstler*innen- und Aktivist*innen rund um die Migrant Sex Workers Group RED EDITION laden an vier Abenden im Anschluss an das Tagesprogramm der International Sexwork Conference zur Show CITY OF WHORES: Hier trifft die mesopotamische (trans)-Göttin INANNA auf Francis the Cock-Destroyer, der im legendären Café Rüdiger abhängt. Was hat der Liesinger Straßenstrich mit dem in Zürich zu tun? Die Antwort kommt von Camgirl <semiramis_69>, die in Dersim auf ein Begräbnis geht. Wir zerstören die WHOREARCHY – die “Hierarchie der Sexarbeit“ – mit Statements an der Stange. Denn das Motto der Show heißt: „Nutten gegen Fellner!“ und „SEXARBEITER*INNENRECHTE SIND MENSCHENRECHTE!“.

 International Sex Work Conference

& Performance: CITY OH WHORES

Sex work is researched and described in different fields: historically, politically, economically, artistically, queer-feminist. As a highly loaded and controversial topic, sex workers themselves are often excluded from the discussion. They are talked about and not talked to.

The Sexwork Conference turns the tables: it is a scientific and social format organized by sex workers themselves and taught from their perspective. The focus is on knowledge transfer around the topic, the further development of strategies for joint political action as well as playful exchange. The goal is to sensibilize not only city dwellers, but also scientists, journalists, and artists in order to deconstruct myths and prejudices that exist about sex work and to network the various actors.

This includes learning how to research, write and speak about sex work and what problems and obstacles sex workers face within society. In this way, we want to help break down the stigma in a sustainable way and break stereotypes of sex work. Workshops, panels, inputs, and a daily social program with different international speakers are part of the conference.

For the duration of three days -  similar to a festival, a place of exchange will be created in the F23. There it is possible to get a broad spectrum of perspectives and to get into a direct exchange with the pro-sex work community of Vienna: Sex workers themselves, allied artists* and LGBTQIA+ activists*.

Artists and activists around the Migrant Sex Workers Group RED EDITION invite to the show CITY OF WHORES on four evenings following the day program of the International Sexwork Conference: Here the Mesopotamian (trans)-goddess INANNA meets Francis the Cock-Destroyer, who is hanging out in the legendary Café Rüdiger. What does the Liesing streetwalk have to do with the one in Zurich? The answer is given by Camgirl <semiramis_69>, who attends a funeral in Dersim. We destroy the WHOREARCHY - the "hierarchy of sex work" - with statements on the pole. The slogan of the show is: "Nutten Gegen Fellner!" and "SEX WORKERS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS."
