Das Jono McCleery nach Villach kommt, darf gerne als äußerst glücklicher Umstand betrachtet werden. Wer sich jetzt fragt warum das so ist, kommt am 02. November am besten zu seinem einzigen Konzert in Österreich. Wer Jono McCleery ist, kann man in seiner ganzen Fülle nur ungenügend klar beschreiben. 

 

Er gilt als einer der ganz großen unter den Singer/Songwritern in den UK. Wer auf Radiohead oder Fink steht oder Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, Chris Martin mag, kommt an dem großartigen Musiker unmöglich vorbei. Taub geboren, konnte Jono McCleery erst ab seinem fünften Lebensjahr hören. Nach seinem vielbeachtet Debut „Darkest Light“, welches er komplett in Eigenregie veröffentlicht, tourte er mit Fink, Jose Gonzales, Jamie Wood und Gil Scott Heron. 

 

2015 hat Jono mit Portico und Maribou State zusammengearbeitet und sein „definitives“ Album produziert: „Pagodes“ ist eine kollaborative Veröffentlichung mit dem legendären Londoner Plattenladen IF Music und wurde 2015 als eines der „besten (Post-)Singer/Songwriter-Alben des Jahres überhaupt“ gefeiert. 

 

„Pagodes“ verheiratet all die spannende Vielfalt von McCleery‘s profudem und schönen Gedankengut mit seiner herausragenden Stimme und wir freuen  uns sehr, euch diesen wunderbaren Musiker vorstellen zu dürfen.

The fact that Jono McCleery will be performing in Villach can be regarded as a fortunate circumstance. In case you're now wondering why, you should come to his only concert in Austria on November 2nd at Kulturhof:keller Villach.

 

Jono is regarded as one of the big ones in UK's vibrant songer/songwriter scene. There's no way around this incredible musician, if you enjoy music by the likes of  Radiohead, Fink, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake or Chris Martin. Jono was born deaf and only developed the ability to hear at the age of 5. After his self-published and critically-acclaimed debut "Darkest Light", Jono toured extensively alongside artists Fink, Jose Gonzales, Jamie Wood und Gil Scott Heron.

 

In 2015, Jono collaborated with Portico and Maribou State and produced his "definitive" album. "Pagodes" was published on the London-based Label IF Music, and was celebrated as the best singer/songwriter album of the year. Pagodes" is the marriage of Jonos exceptional voice and his profound and beautiful thoughts. We are very pleased to be able to present you this wonderful musician on November 2nd.
