THE MUNYKS
are a blazing revival of the wildest British and American psychedelic beat of the 1960s. With raw, distorted vocals, screaming guitars, pounding bass, feverish lyrics, thunderous drums, and the wail of a vintage organ, they unleash the untamed energy of legends like the early Rolling Stones, The Doors, and The Sonics (and for connoisseurs: The Action, The Attraction, and The Music Machine).

After the great debut album „Goods for Conversation“ (Bachelor Records) released in 2023, here is the first 7“ single from the Viennese trio. 60s garage meets post-punk, spiced up with a pinch of surf feeling. On top of that, there are the absolutely charismatic vocals of the bustling Felix Schnabl aka Salamirecorder. Minimalist, straightforward, to the point. Nothing reheated. Everything freshly prepared. A top doublesider that makes you want more!
If you have to describe the music, its probably like a weird slightly annoyed outsider but with a melting heart for love songs. A perfect shake between 60s Back from the Grave Garage punk and a little breeze of early trash mixtape Powerpop. or something… …weird, loud, rocknroll noise!!!

Salamirecorder war früher das Soloprojekt des 22-jährigen Felix Schnabl, der auch in Gruppen wie Laundromat Chicks, Telebrains, SUX SUX SUX und vielen mehr aktiv ist. Für das 2023 erschienene Album „Goods For Conversation“ hat sich Salamirecorder mit The Hi-Fi Phonos zusammengetan.
Wenn man die Musik beschreiben müsste, wäre sie wahrscheinlich wie ein schräger, leicht genervter Außenseiter, aber mit einem schmelzenden Herzen für Liebeslieder. Ein perfekter Mix zwischen 60´s Garage Punk und einer kleinen Brise frühen Trash Mixtape Powerpop.
